September 21, 2013 | Boise Birthday Celebration

Can you imagine being 100 years old? When I was a teenager, I could not imagine what my life would be past 21. The last time I saw Grandma was a couple of years ago, and she was still able to thread a needle without glasses. A birthday celebration was organized and we honored her great achievement among close family and friends.

When I approached grandma to say hi, the first thing she said was, “I remember you. You lost weight.” I replied, “No, Grandma, I just gave up and bought bigger clothing.” We both laughed.

I reached out to Golden Moments Media to capture our event on video, while I had the honor of taking some photographs at the event. Letters from government officials congratulating Grandma on turning 100 years old were read, the menu was customized, the seafood was flown in from Spain, and family members were singing. On top of that, a birthday cake in a shape of a Chinese peach was served! Grandma was very happy and that was truly the highlight of our day.

What a great accomplishment, Grandma! Cheers, and we wish you another 100 birthdays to come!
